Air Traffic Management receives a separate section on our website to highlight the company’s main area of expertise at its founding. Its first sales, in fact, were support tasks related to the AN/TPS-73 (MATCALS) tactical air traffic control system, fielded by the United States Marine Corps. These tasks included the re-design of parts and assemblies to mitigate obsolescence issues as well as manufacturing of new parts. The AN/TPS 73 was operational in a combat environment in Afghanistan during Phoenics’s early years, often supported by emergency parts deliveries by air. Phoenics has extensive staff experience in nearly all areas of air traffic management. As an example, staff professionals have contributed to NATO studies addressing future tactical air navigation systems. From ground to air radio communications to surveillance radars and air traffic control automation systems, Phoenics has expertise in nearly every area of communications, navigation, and surveillance.
